Recently one of my business partners and I purchased some land in New Jersey. This was our first acquisition of raw land so we were very proud of ourselves. Now you may ask yourself why am I telling you this. I am telling this because of how the deal originated. We were able to secure this deal by a random text message asking “Does your family have any houses for sale?”. To some, that may sound “too easy” but that is exactly what started the process of this acquisition.
I often tell people you don’t know something until you ask. Had I thought that text message was a waste of time, this deal may have never occurred. A part of having success in real estate is having good personable skills. Knowing how and when to interact with people. When you’re developing your network of real estate related individuals, there will be many questions you can vet them with to figure if they are a right fit. When I vetted my friend regarding this land, I found it was the right fit.
